Components of a successful social ad:

  1. It has to be visually appealing. Statistics show that visual content fairs more favorably in Facebook’s algorithm. While Twitter keeps everything short with a limit on characters, there is allotted space for an image.
  2. Relevant content. Using tools such as Answer the Public and BuzzSumo to figure out what your audience wants to know is the best way to construct content.
  3. WIIFM? A largely discussed marketing term, “What’s in it for me?” is the way consumers think about products. Why should they click on your ad?
  4. Sense of urgency or CTA. Calling to action is a great way to get engagement, but be careful, Facebook algorithm’s have been said to weed out “like”, “share”, and “comment”, so you will need to be more creative!

Where is Social Media headed?

In the future, the millennials that are driven by social media today will not be the same 40-50 years olds that we know.
